Remember that the best write ups for a hotel in Florida does not mean it is necessarily the best hotel for you as it will depend on your vacation plans such as:

scuba diving - is the hotel located near to the charter boats where you intend to dive

restaurants - do you intend eating at the hotel, many of which have fantastic restaurants where you can eat and drink knowing your bed is nearby, or maybe, like me, you prefer to eat out in which case you will not want to be walking or travelling far too good restaurants

parking - good parking facilities ensure you are happy to take the rental car out without worrying about parking facilities when you return

attractions - how far to you want to travel to the local attractions, a nice hotel in the middle of nowhere becomes a poor hotel, check what's in the area.

These are just a few thoughts you may want to put together before you make your choice.

Having said that I have always enjoyed myself in Florida and love driving so if you are like me you may find any top hotel in Florida suitable for your needs.

Whilst it does not have the best scuba diving sites on its doorstep I have found that Fort Lauderdale has some fantastic hotels and very good prices and what more could you want than staying in an area known as the 'Venice of America'
