Maimi Dive Sites

Emerald Reef is to be found 1 mile east of Key Biscayne in 15 to 20 feet of water making this a relatively shallow dive. This is a very popular dive site in Miami and the quality of the colors and marine life are considered to rival the best that The Keys has to offer.

Miami Scuba Diving – Emerald Reef

It is a relatively small reef compared to others around Florida but it is the coral growths together with other marine life in these clear shallow waters that makes this reef so popular.

You will find that this reef is an ideal dive site for taking underwater photographs and underwater videos because the light is excellent and gives depth and brilliance to the natural reef colors.

With a backdrop of hard corals such as elkhorn and pillar coral together with a whole variety of colorful sponges this is one photo opportunity you would not want to miss.

This is a reef of outstanding beauty that is ideal for beginners, novices and those who want to practice macro photography at this abundant site.

You will love this dive site. The Florida Keys may have Mollasses Reef but Miami has this stunning reef and the shallow waters allow for some spectacular colors to really blaze across the reef.

Do not forget your camera on this dive!
