Conch Wall
Conch Wall
Islamorada diving centers will take you to a variety of dive sites such as…
Conch Wall
Possibly one of the best ‘wall’ dives sites in the Keys. Islamorada diving centers bring scuba divers here to dive or drift diving along the drop off known as Conch Wall which is an experience like no other due to an amazing abundance of marine life that has grown over the years.
The ‘wall’ slopes from 45-110ft down to the sandy bottom and is adorned with massive barrel sponges some 5ft tall. Amongst the sponges are Pillar coral and seafans.
The area is known for its clear waters and for the large specimens of fish that inhabit the area such as jacks, permits and groupers. Together with the schools of fish in the area and various corals this is one exciting dive.
Islamorada Scuba Diving Videos
Scuba diving videos often capture the beauty of sharks as they swim through the water in their unique style.
Here is the opportunity to watch one of my favorite clips taken at Little Conch Reef (which by Conch Wall) of a beautiful shark -a nurse shark - this is some excellent video showing you what to expect at this dive site (press the button second right on the bottom of the video player to see it in full screen)…
Terence’s Log
The barrel sponges are amazing to see and I understand why the Islamorada Diving Center I booked suggested this as an afternoon dive.
We saw some large groupers in the distance and a Nurse shark insisted on swimming close by. Still dazzled when I watch a shark swim through the water. Is there anything more graceful?
